Memorial Day

In Eau Claire the Memorial Day Parade will begin at 9:30AM May 26th at Wilson Park and ends at Owen Park.  The Memorial Day Program begins immediately following the parade with guest speaker Richard Freitag, a Vietnam Veteran. This event is free and open to all.

Walk or Run for Charity This Saturday

If you enjoy getting out for a walk or run, and you like to help good causes, this Saturday May 3rd you have two choices in Eau Claire.

The UW EC Keep on Chuckin' AMA 5k  will be held on the Putnam Trail. Proceeds benefit the Chuck Tomkovick Teaching in Excellence Fund. Registration begins at 8AM, racing at 9:30AM. Get all the details here UWECAMA

Easter Events

Jelly beans and colored eggs will be everywhere this weekend as the Easter Bunny visits this Sunday!  Here are some fun events happening around the area.

Several Easter Egg Hunts will be Saturday April 19th:

  • All Day Easter Egg Hunt 8AM to 5PM Egg Hunt at Down to Earth Garden Center in Eau Claire - see details here
  • The Fifth Annual Community-Wide Easter Egg Hunt will be at the Pine Pavilion at Carson Park 9AM.
  • Kid's Easter Egg Hunt with free hot dogs, chips and juice and a bag of candy at Lake Hallie Sportsman's Club in Chippewa Falls Noon-2PM.
  • 5th Annual Grand Avenue Egg Hunt at Freedom Park 2PM - kids 12 and under should dress as their favorite woodland or fairy tail character.

Easter Sunday enjoy a Free Easter Day Lunch 11:30AM to 1:30PM at Culver’s on Golf Road in Eau Claire. Donations are accepted to benefit Hope Gospel Mission and the Salvation Army.

Upcoming Fun Runs

If you like to get out and walk or run for fun and charity, here are some events for the next two Saturdays made just for you.

On Saturday April 5th it's the Blugold Beginnings' Higher Education Hustle 5K Run/Walk along the Chippewa River Trail. beginning and ending at Zorn Arena in Eau Claire. Pre-register at the Blugold Beginnings website or on race day at 8AM, racing begins at 9AM.

Also on April 5th is the Around the World 5K Fun Run hosted by AIESEC at Carson Park in Eau Claire. Run around the park and learn about different countries and cultures. Register at the AIESEC website or 9AM on race day.

Saturday April 12th is the Neon Fun Run hosted by B-Side Community from 5:30PM to 8PM, at Owen Park in Eau Claire. Have fun on this two mile run/walk by wearing bright, crazy colors. Concert by 513free following the race. Register at the B-Side website or on race day.

Govin’s Meats & Berries in Menomonie is hosting their 9th Annual Lambing Time.  For the next three weekends - March 22nd & 23rd, March 29th & 30th and April 5th & 6th from 10AM to 4PM - you can see lambs, piglets, chicks, kids and calves, plus take a pony ride or watch wool being spun.

Learn Cross-Country Skiing

Give-A-Kid-A-Book

Going on now through December 19th the Friends of the L.E. Phillips Public Library are collecting new, unwrapped books for the 19th Annual Give-A-Kid-A-Book project. Suggestions include board books for babies, easy picture books for pre-schoolers, and fiction and non-fiction books for ages 6 to 18. Dictionaries and audiobooks are also needed. Bring books to the library during regular library hours or they can be donated at Charter Bank.  Monetary donations are also welcome, and more books will be purchased with your contribution.

Christmas Celebration

One of Eau Claire's annual traditions, Christmastime in the City will be December 7th Noon to 5PM at the Downtown Hotel parking lot.  Lunch with Santa will be from Noon to 3PM at Pizza Plus. Stuff the Sleigh

Saturday November 23rd join with Mega Foods and many other area sponsors in the Stuff the Sleigh 5K at Carson Park in Eau Claire.  Registration begins at 8AM with the Run/Walk at 10AM and a 1 Mile Kids Fun Run with Santa at 11AM. Bring items to Stuff the Sleigh - non-perishable food items, animal blankets, food, toys, and litter, new children's toys, baby items and personal hygiene items. Donations will go to the Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, Feed My People Food Bank and the Eau Claire County Humane Association.

If you're out hunting or just can't be at the event Saturday, you can still help by bringing donations to Mega Foods West November 15th-17th.

Pancakes and Family Fun

Chippewa Valley Museum will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast and Free Family Fun Day Saturday October 26th 8:30AM to 11:30AM. Enjoy a costume contest, scavenger hunt and more. There will also be a Boo-gle run at 10:30AM with the Indianhead Track Club's 45th Annual Carson Park 5K and 10 Mile Walk Run.

Halloween Fun Begins

October comes with spooks and goblins and things that go bump in the night. Halloween is just around the corner and Halloween Hallow is back for the second year in Eau Claire. The Enchanted Forest opens this Friday October 4th and run though October 27th with "spirited" family entertainment with day and evening hours. For adults Frightmare Farm opens next Friday October 11th and will be open Friday and Saturday nights through October 26th.
