Upcoming Fun Runs

If you like to get out and walk or run for fun and charity, here are some events for the next two Saturdays made just for you.

On Saturday April 5th it's the Blugold Beginnings' Higher Education Hustle 5K Run/Walk along the Chippewa River Trail. beginning and ending at Zorn Arena in Eau Claire. Pre-register at the Blugold Beginnings website or on race day at 8AM, racing begins at 9AM.

Also on April 5th is the Around the World 5K Fun Run hosted by AIESEC at Carson Park in Eau Claire. Run around the park and learn about different countries and cultures. Register at the AIESEC website or 9AM on race day.

Saturday April 12th is the Neon Fun Run hosted by B-Side Community from 5:30PM to 8PM, at Owen Park in Eau Claire. Have fun on this two mile run/walk by wearing bright, crazy colors. Concert by 513free following the race. Register at the B-Side website or on race day.

See Baby Lambs

Govin’s Meats & Berries in Menomonie is hosting their 9th Annual Lambing Time.  For the next three weekends - March 22nd & 23rd, March 29th & 30th and April 5th & 6th from 10AM to 4PM - you can see lambs, piglets, chicks, kids and calves, plus take a pony ride or watch wool being spun.

Sports Show

It's that time of year - time to head to the Sports Show and see what's new and what you need for 2014. Head to the Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center for the 2014 Wisconsin Sport Show March 14th - 16th. Vendors, camping gear, ATVs, boats, hunting and fishing gear, and much more.

2nd Annual Kids Ice Fishing Tournament

Saturday February 22nd is the Lake Hallie Sportsman's Club 2nd Annual Kids Ice Fishing Tournament in Chippewa Falls. Boys and girls 12 and under are welcome to compete from Noon to 4PM and the event includes a free lunch and prizes in four categories.

Powder Keg Snowshoe and Fat-Bike Races

Head to Lowes Creek County Park for winter fun February 8th at the Eau Claire Bike & Sport Powder Keg Snowshoe and Fat-Bike Races.  Choose the 5-mile Snowshoe Race, 2-mile Snowshoe/Run/Walk Race or the 2-hour lapped Fat-Bike Race.

Sledding at Pinehurst Park

Join in Supervised Sledding at Pinehurst Park in Eau Claire every Sunday through February 9th from 1PM to 4PM. There will also be a roaring fire, music, and hot chocolate. This event is free and fun for the whole family.

Learn Cross-Country Skiing

Always wanted to learn to Cross-Country Ski? Sign up and learn January 11th at Beaver Creek Reserve in Fall Creek. Class runs from 11AM to 1PM at the Wise Nature Center; $5/Friends and $8/Nonmembers.
